Organic Absorbent / Binder
SORB®XT is a 100% organic binder that can be used on water, roads and all other surfaces in the event of damage. In a few seconds, almost 10 times its own weight is absorbed. Due to the low weight of the binder, handling is pleasantly easy and inexpensive disposal is a significant advantage compared to conventional binders. SORB®XT has been tested for its effectiveness and in accordance with the usage classes Type I, II, III-R SF of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
FAQs
SORB®XT Absorbent Binder
No, it does not. The material sets immediately after application, preventing it from being carried away by the wind. Any loose fibers that may be displaced are fully organic and pose no risk to people or the environment (certified environmentally safe, 100% organic product).
A comparative test conducted between SORB®XT vs. conventional heavy binders both placed next to a wind machine showed that wind had the same effect on both materials.
That’s correct. However, we are not aware of any other Absorbent / Binder on the market with the same certified quality and versatile properties as SORB®XT. It is suitable for almost all applications (Type I, II, III R) and has an exceptionally broad absorption range, including many problematic and hazardous chemicals.
We can provide you with the current list of tested substances upon request. If you are working with a liquid that has not yet been tested, simply let us know—we will arrange immediate testing at our factory laboratory.
Not at all. At first glance, £55.00 (retail price ex-vat) per 7.5kg (50l) bag may seem expensive, but the absorption capacity tells a very different story along with the Environmental credentials.
One bag of SORB®XT absorbs up to 36 litres of liquid. To achieve the same performance with conventional granule absorbent / binders, you would typically need 3+ bags of 20kg each (60kg+). Whilst these products appear cheaper (usually £15.00–£20.00 per bag), their true cost is higher:
· Heavier handling & disposal: 20 kg bags are difficult to use, increase disposal volumes, and therefore raise disposal costs.
· Limited performance: Many conventional binders absorb water, reducing their effectiveness on wet surfaces. They are also not organic, rarely cover a wide range of substances, and are generally not fully thermally recyclable.
· Lower efficiency: SORB®XT works on water and wet substrates, is certified organic, and offers a much wider absorption spectrum.
Additional benefits of SORB®XT:
· Faster action: Absorption speed is several times quicker than conventional products.
· Safety: Certified with 97% immediate grip on the surface, ensuring work safety and accident prevention. No need to shut down areas, reducing risk of secondary accidents.
· Space-saving: One versatile product replaces multiple conventional binders, reducing storage needs and the risk of using the wrong binder.
