A 360° rubber rand adds further protection to the lower boot, shielding the leather from knocks, scrapes, and debris.

Fitted with D3O® Side Impact Protection, the DEFENDER MAX safeguards the lower fibula against knocks and impacts—especially useful when using foot ascenders or climbing in confined spaces.

Sizing & Fit Guidance

When selecting your boots:

• Choose a size that allows your toes to move freely without pressing the front.
• Avoid excessive heel lift—if there’s more than a finger width, the boot volume is too large.
• If unsure between sizes, opt slightly larger (extra socks can improve fit).
• Wherever possible, try on your boots at an authorised STEIN dealer to confirm the correct size.
