APW6000 Battery Pulling Winch 1500kg (Winch Only)

Portable Winch APW6000 Battery-Powered Capstan Winch Developed through a collaboration between Portable Winch Co. and STIHL, the APW6000 combines professional pulling performance with the convenience, low noise and reduced maintenance of battery power.

Its powerful 3kW brushless electric motor delivers up to 1,500kg of single-line pulling force when used with a STIHL AP 500 S battery. By incorporating a suitable pulley system, the pulling capacity can be increased to a maximum of 3,000kg. The centrifugal clutch and overload protection provide controlled, dependable performance in demanding forestry, arboriculture, land management and off-road applications.

A three-mode selector allows the operator to balance pulling performance against battery runtime. High mode provides a maximum rope speed of 16m per minute, Medium delivers 13m per minute, while Low Eco mode reduces the speed to 10m per minute to maximise battery life.

The ribbed 76mm capstan drum increases friction between the rope and drum for improved grip and consistent pulling performance. Unlike a conventional drum winch, the capstan design allows an unlimited rope length to be used, making the APW6000 suitable for pulls over extended distances. It is designed for use with 12mm low-stretch double-braid polyester rope.

A stainless-steel rope brake combines a cam cleat with an integrated throttle control. This helps prevent the rope from running backwards while providing smooth and precise control throughout the pull. The protective ground plate and tubular frame help shield the motor and gearbox against impact, abrasion and general site wear.

Powered by STIHL’s professional 36V AP battery platform, the APW6000 is compatible with a range of AP batteries. The AP 300 S provides up to 1,300kg of peak pulling force, while the recommended AP 500 S enables the full 1,500kg capacity. Batteries and chargers are available separately through STIHL dealers.

Compact and portable, the winch weighs just 13kg without the battery and can operate in any position. Its aluminium gearbox features heat-treated gears, ball-bearing construction and oil-bath lubrication for long-term reliability.
